On Tuesday, the KERC staff travelled to Saugeen Nation, where we completed assessments, spent time in the Kindergarten class and held a school-wide literacy afternoon.

The Kindergarten students were introduced to representing numbers on a ten frame.

We read Sleep, Bear, through which students learned about hibernation and then acted it out!

They then created their own bear dens, which will be used in a follow-up math lesson using ten frames.

The rest of the morning consisted of fun experiments, playdough making and dancing!

After lunch, we invited families to join us for a Literacy Afternoon at the school, where they rotated through seven literacy centres with their children.

A great time was had by all and everyone went home with a bag filled with new books!
